Clarence J. Harris, Sr. is the second child born to the loving parents of the late Deacon Clemmon and Missionary Vernell Harris. He accepted Christ as a preteen and was inspired to preach.  He shared this with his maternal grandmother and parents the Lord “called” him to preach and they through much prayer and oversight encouraged him.       

The Honorable late Bishop C.E. Bennett ordained Brother Harris as an Elder into the ministry. Elder Harris served faithfully for two decades at Williams Chapel Church of God In Christ (COGIC), under the late Pastor Winfield Williams.   Elder Harris went on to pastorage a loving multi-generational multi-family church called  “The LoveFeast” COGIC which his dear father is credited with naming to highlight a goal of the church to love God by “feasting” in His Word.

As the plan of the Lord continued to unfold, the Holy Spirit inspired the late Pastor Lester Kinsey to ask Pastor Harris to assume the pastorate of his church-the Chase Street COGIC; the two churches merged amicably under the LoveFeast banner.  The congregation prospered in the Word together and outgrew its’ building accommodations, which subsequently led to a new construction in 2004 that would better serve the needs of the ministry and accommodate the people of God.  Today, by the Grace of God, our Lord and Savior is yet adding to the church such that should be saved.

Pastor Harris remains passionate about all the Lord has allowed him to do over the years as a husband, father, brother, caregiver to his 97-year-old mother, a lifelong student in the word of God, Mastered in Christian theology, leader, and teacher, and serving faithfully as full-time pastor of Love Feast COGIC.  During the height of COVID-19, he continued the Wednesday Bible Study on Zoom and added to the curriculum Journey through the Bible 101 course in 2023. He actively serves as the appointed Chairman for the Ordination Board of the Third Jurisdiction where the honorable Bishop Bobby Warren presides. He loves his membership and remains faithful to visiting the sick and shut-in and performs his pastoral assignments with gentle kindness and dignity not only to the membership but neighbors and others in need.  He has been the weekly host of the hour program Sunday School Lessons on Saturday for over 2 decades on WGVE 88.7 FM and he remains joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer, a consistent student of the Bible and lovingly encourages the membership to do so as well.

Pastor Harris and wife, the late Sister Linda, a faithful servant of God transitioned to be with the Lord in 2007 and they have five adult children and seven grands.  To God Be the Glory.
